Overview

QR Kit – Scan & Generate is a utility application that lets you scan and generate QR codes and barcodes, scan documents, extract text with OCR, convert images to PDF, and manage files on your device. Your privacy is important to us. The app is designed to work offline and does not collect personal data.

Information We Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. All scanning, generation, OCR, and document processing happens locally on your device.

Device Permissions

• Camera – Used only while you scan QR codes, barcodes, documents, or capture images for OCR.
• Photos / Media – Used via the system photo picker when you choose images from your gallery. Generated scans and QR codes can be saved locally on your device.
• Storage – Used on older Android versions to save files locally on your device.
• Vibration – Used for haptic feedback when a scan completes.
• Internet – Used only to open links from scanned codes (e.g. URLs) and to display this privacy policy. No data is sent to our servers.

Data Storage

Scans, generated codes, OCR results, and PDFs are stored locally on your device. We do not upload, sync, or back up your files to any server.

Third-Party Services

The app may show ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and device information to serve and measure ads, subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not use separate analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. On-device libraries (such as ML Kit for OCR) process data locally and do not send your content to us.

Children's Privacy

QR Kit does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
